Customer Service

Up at the crack of dawn as it seems that jet lag is still at large at the Andaz Hotel for the Brown/Dobson ladies.  So we go up before the rest of New York and got our day started.  The weather forecast was going to a warm barmy 13℃ with a 100% chance of rain.

The perfect sort of day to hang out at Macy*s!

Apparently Macy*s is the biggest department store in the whole world.  It's been running since 1929 and has the original escalators to prove it.

The stock has thankfully changed somewhat over the years as well.  We should all have a pair of these spangly little numbers.

The service at Macy*s was lovely and old fashioned.  Lots of people to help you and lots of people milling around folding things and what not.  However, the same can not be said about Gap.  There was one poor lady at the counter with a huge line of waiting customers a mile long.  While we were waiting and waiting and waiting we watched 3 staff members just wandering around aimlessly looking for things to straighten.

After about 15 minutes of waiting I approached of the the wanderers and asked if she could perhaps serve some people at the register.  She said she was just about to call somebody over.

"Were you really?" I asked

About 10 years later we made it to the front of the line and only then did another staff member turn up at the registers..... at this request of this lady in the stripes who just stood around until she turned up.

Then we went to Toys R Us and were simultaneously attacked by the same lego Hulk..... cause that's just how we roll and that's the magic of Toys R Us!
